“ I was born in West Yorkshire,
of an English mother, Irene and a Jamaican father,
George. I went to school in Saltaire (near to the
famous Salt’s Mill) and, after living and working
in London and Cornwall, settled in rural Herefordshire.
I am married and have four children.

I graduated from London’s Central School of
Speech and Drama, receiving from the University of
London additional diplomas in Dramatic Art, Voice,
Speech and Education (gaining a mark of credit in
education).
I am a qualified teacher and have been, a lecturer,
an actor and the artistic director of a touring theatre
company. I appear in every kind of venue, work regularly
in education and community settings, contribute to
professional publications and frequently collaborate
in projects with other artists and with various national
and international organisations.
I am a member of the Arts Council West Midlands Literature
Advisory Panel, and a member of the Herefordshire
Literature Forum.”
