RECENT TESTIMONIAL/REFERENCE

It might be useful or even necessary for certain would-be clients to have access to some sort of testimonial. So, here are three that together refer to my work, inevitably in a fleeting and general sense, across the broad education spectrum. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you require something more substantial or specific.

Lenny immediately captured the attention and the imaginations of large groups of students with whom he told and shared stories. He is very skilled in enthusing the children towards participating fully in the storytelling process in such a manner that it extends their reasoning and evaluation skills as well as their storytelling ones. Lenny uses techniques that develop the children's ability to listen in a focused manner and to be able to respond critically to choices, issues and various challenging concepts.

Lenny is also very adept in encouraging colleagues to participate in his workshops so that his work with young people naturally extends into the area of professional support and training for those usually in charge of the young people in the institution concerned.

Lenny is a very personable, charismatic, but sensitive and supportive presence in any educational, caring or similar professional context.

Ages: 11years to 19years

Deputy Head Teacher
St David’s Centre, Hereford

I have worked with Lenny in a variety of contexts since 1992. His storytelling has engaged a range of young people from BTec Performing Arts Students to excluded teenagers in a Pupil Referral Unit. We have used storytelling in many different ways, for example as a means of creating performances, as a means of developing literacy skills. We have worked with elderly members of a community to “harvest” stories and we have delivered such tales to primary school classes.
Because Lenny is such an engaging storyteller audiences of all ages are enchanted by his charismatic delivery. The work is always hugely enjoyable but far more takes place than simply entertainment. It can also be terrifically confidence building, empowering or team building according to the aims of the work. In an educational context Lenny readily embraces objectives set and feeds back and evaluates thoroughly.
Lenny is open to the needs of staff and pupils, working flexible and creatively to engage groups of all ages and sizes, actively. He peppers his stories with riddles, jokes, puzzles and musical interludes ensuring that it is a treat to be involved.
It is a pleasure to recommend Lenny’s work.

Lenny has made many visits to our school over the years, bringing a wonderful mix of stories from different times and cultures. The children are always thoroughly engaged and they remember and talk about the stories for a long time afterwards.
